How Do Foam Mattresses Work?
Memory foam consists of so called open cells. A vast amount of "balloons" that can transfer air between them. This is what happens when you lie down on a memory foam mattress. The air moves fluidly from one another and forms perfectly to your body's contours. This helps supporting your body the way it should be and relieves it from stress and what not.
In a visco foam mattress, there is no transferring of air, but rather the air just collapses where there is applied pressure. This means that you will get support in areas that you don't apply pressure.
How Does Latex Foam Mattresses Work?
So, now that we know how good the other foam mattresses work, what does the latex have to offer? Well, the first thing that is great about it is that it is natural. Latex is gathered from rubber trees (unless it is synthetic latex that is used). There are two popular methods of making latex foam mattress, the Dunlop method and the Talalay method. Dunlop is quicker, while Talalay takes longer but gets better results.
The benefits of using latex foam is that it will make for a lot more durable mattresses and the support that it offers are great. With its open cell structure (like the memory foam), it will give the body full support and form itself perfectly to it and since it is elastic, it will immediately bounce back to its original form when you are done resting. It also will help you remain cool during summer and warm in winter since it has the possibility of free air circulation. Another pro of the latex is that it is great for people who are allergic. It will not host many bed-bugs and thus be a staple for sufferers.
